6.8 Los verbos infinitivos
Infinitive Verbs are just basic forms of verbs!
You may have asked yourself, "What the heck are infinitive verbs?"
When people say "infinitive" or "infinitive verb", what they really mean is the "basic form" of a verb.
In English, an infinitive verb (or basic form) of a verb begins with the word “to.” For example, “to dance”, “ to run”, or “to write.”
In Spanish, infinitive verbs always end in -ar, -er, or -ir.
Let's look at examples of Spanish infinitive verbs, next to their English counterparts.
Español infinitive | Ingles infinitive |
---|---|
bailar | to dance |
correr | to run |
escribir | to write |
Going forward in this lesson, you will get more practice using infinitive verbs to describe activities that people like and do not like.
