Final Exam Study Guide

If you study the things on this list for the final exam, you will do fine on the final. You can also review in the "REVIEW: Photography Glossary" that is listed below this in moodle. Those terms and definitions are easy to study - make sure you are familiar with them. The final will be covering all sections of what we have studied this semester.

Going over all of the previous quizzes will also help you in terms of studying! Make sure you review what you got wrong so you won't miss the same questions twice!

  3. Know and be able to identify 6 rules of composition.
  4. Know what white balancing and filters are.
  5. Review black and white photography and be able to answer why it is still used today.
  6. Know pixlr basics, tools, and functions of pixlr.
  7. Know different types of lenses and situations for different lens use.
  8. Review "WATCH: David Hockney presentation." Know what "photocollage" means.
  9. Review ISO - what is it, how is it used, when it should be adjusted.
  10. Review Shutter Speed - what is it, how is it used, when it should be adjusted.
  11. Review Aperture - what is it, how is it used, when it should be adjusted.
  12. Know depth of field and factors that affect depth of field.
  13. Review tips and tricks for shooting action shot photography.
  14. Review different types of lighting.
  15. Know high/low image resolution.
  16. Review what a still life is.
  17. Review "ASSIGNMENT: Photography Careers Crossword" and know different types of photo careers.
  18. Review how line, pattern, texture, and framing help enhance a photo.
  19. Know what environmental portraiture is.
  20. Know what a photo essay is.
