Unit 9.1 - Grand Designs

You are working at Level 4 if you can:
  • Use 1 planning tool (e.g. Gantt Chart, mind map, drawn designs) before starting work.
  • Describe the quality of your finished work.
  • Describe 2 techniques or skills you have used during this unit.
  • See what happens when you change a number in a spreadsheet, and why.
  • Create a portfolio of your work from this unit.

You are working at Level 5 if you can:
  • Create a Gantt Chart for the whole project and a plan for one sub-task.
  • Evaluate different parts of your work and suggest improvements.
  • Give advantages and disadvantages for using ICT on this type of project.
  • Changed a formula in a spreadsheet and explained why.
  • Create a portfolio using appropriate text and images suitable for the intended audience.

You are working at Level 6 if you can:
  • Use at least 3 different planning techniques. Stick to the plans you have made.
  • Use feedback from others to improve the standard of your work.
  • Explain how the use of ICT affects people and businesses.
  • Make predictions and create a spreadsheet model to test them.
  • Create an effective, attractive and appropriate portfolio and explain why it is suitable for the audience and purpose.
You are working at Level 7 if you can:
  • Create and make good use of effective planning documents for every stage of the project.
  • Create a list of success criteria before starting work, check the quality of your work during the project and improve it as you go.
  • Discuss, in detail, the impact of ICT systems on people, communities and cultures.
  • Create a complex spreadsheet model, making use of advanced functions such as IF() and VLOOKUP().
