Podcast Topics
One person per podcasting group should begin a new discussion here. The other members will reply to that discussion.
The first person (this will be your Segment Captain and director) should post the idea for the podcast segment. Include the topic, as well as the concept for the segment (skit, song, journalistic-style report, etc.).
Then post an annotated bibliography for your segment. That's the MLA citations for each of the articles you read, plus a short summary of how that article will inform your piece.
Every group member must add two sources in their reply to the discussion. So, a group of 4 podcasters would have a total of eight sources identified and annotated in this forum.
Here's a sample of an entry from an annotated bibliography:
Waite, Linda J., Frances Kobrin Goldscheider, and Christina Witsberger. "Nonfamily Living and the Erosion of Traditional Family Orientations Among Young Adults." American Sociological Review 51 (1986): 541-554.
The authors use data from the National Longitudinal Surveys of Young Women and Young Men to test their hypothesis that nonfamily living near young adults alter their attitudes, values, plans, and expectations, moving them away from their belief in traditional gender roles. They find that increasing the time away from parents before marrying increased individualism, self-sufficiency, and changes in attitudes about families.
