Discussion Instructions

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

Discussion allow us to "discuss" topics in a online environment. It allows your teacher to see that you understand the material and that you are thinking!

You all will be participating in several discussions in our English 9 class. Here are a few guidelines to remember as you participate:

  1. Read the question(s) and directions carefully. Comments are graded as part of your participation grade.
  2. Use appropriate language. This means that you should avoid using short cuts used for texting, slang, inappropriate words, etc.
  3. Be kind and courteous to your peers. You may disagree and present dissenting opinions, but you must be polite in your language and tone.

4. Be thoughtful. Posts must be insightful and show effort in order to be graded.

Original Post: 10 points

2 Posts to classmates: 20 points

Each discussion is worth 30 points to your grade.
