Feedback on Rough Drafts

The purpose of this assignment is to get feedback from and give feedback to your peers in order to make improvements to the rough drafts, make changes to the rough drafts, and turn in even better drafts based on those changes. You will be working with two classmates on the discussion forum in order to do this.

1. Click on the discussion forum located in the box labeled "Other Activites". Then click on "Start New Discussion Thread".

2. Upload your rough draft to a discussion thread.

3. Choose TWO essays from your peers to read and evaluate. (Try to choose papers that haven't received feedback.)

4. Give these two people feedback on their essays. Use the following questions to help you write TWO paragraphs to each person.

Does the paper have a clear introduction?
What does the writer do to make the paper interesting?
What questions do you have about the topic?
What areas seemed confusing to you?
What did you learn from the essay?
Did the writer include at least five citations? Were they done correctly?
Did the writer include a reference page correctly listing at least 2 sources?Did you notice errors in punctuation and mechanics? Explain to your partner how to correct these errors.

REMEMBER TO BE SUPPORTIVE, POSITIVE, and SPECIFIC in your responses. Give good suggestions so that the writer can improve the essay!

IN ADDITION- Upload your files as PDF files so that everyone can open them. You may use Google Docs to do this.

To upload your document, click on "Start a New Discussion Thread". Then click on browse by the spot to attach documents at the bottom of the page, select your file from your documents (saved as a PDF), and then select and click done/save.

To save your document as a PDF, simply select PDF from the list of options from when you click "Save As" for your document.

You will earn points once your comments to BOTH students are posted on the appropriate discussion thread.
