Wolf Ecology

Wolf ecology explains "how it all works." It includes the study of wolf biology and behavior but more so how they fit together and support the wolf in its role as a large predator. Wolf ecology looks at the varying environmental factors that influence the distribution and abundance of wolves and their interaction with other species. The following video illustrates what is called a "trophic cascade" or a rippling effect of how one species may affect others, directly or indirectly, in a specific ecosystem.
