Activity 2 - Creating your learning outcomes
What do your students need to know?
Learner Outcomes

Learning Outcomes - Learning Outcomes are statements that describe or list measurable and essential mastered content-knowledge—reflecting skills, competencies, and knowledge that students have achieved and can demonstrate upon successfully completing a course.

In this assignment you will need to create/share your learning outcomes for your program or course. This will help your students put the pieces together to ensure that they are meeting your outcomes as well as do their own personal planning and goal development. Eventually, from these learning outcomes, you and/or your students will decide what artifacts will highlight their learning and/or mastery of these outcomes.

Task 1 - Using Bloom's Taxonomy Verbs, construct:
  1. two learning outcomes for your course: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to....
  2. one learning outcome for a unit of instruction or assignment within your course: Upon the completion of this lesson/unit, students should be able to....
At a minimum 1 of these outcomes must employ higher order thinking verbs (Analysis, Synthesis, or Evaluation). They should be clear and measurable.

Task 2 - Create a page on your e-Portfolio called "Course Learning Outcomes". Copy and paste your learning outcomes to your page.

Task 3 (Optional) - Add specific standard (state/national) information to this page. Being aware of specific state or national standards may help students link to other areas in their academics or personal lives in which they are learning to accomplish those standards.
