Assume that you have started a freelance business in an area in which you have expertise. For example photography, cartooning, web site design, podcasting, etc.

(A freelancer is a self-employed person who pursues a profession without a long-term commitment to any particular employer.)

2.1 Develop a ‘Business Network’ database ( table)  of six potential clients in your business network.

Use the Internet and yellowpages.com.au to identify six companies that you believe would benefit from your freelance services and products. For example Graphic Design companies, local businesses, Government Departments, eLearning development companies.

Your database fields (table columns) should include Company Name, Address, a contact’s name and position in the company.

2.2 Design a business card that you would use to introduce yourself to potential 'members' of your network.
