If you skip words and do nothing when reading is confusing, you will not understand a text. If you constantly skip words, your word knowledge will not expand. If you constantly do nothing when reading is confusing, you will not grow in your skill of understanding. The goals of this set of lessons are:

  • Use outside the word strategies, or context, to understand word meanings.
  • Use inside the word strategies, or deconstruction, to understand word meanings.
  • Learn the vocabulary routine for our class
  • Use the context and deconstruction strategies to understand unknown words in a short article and in your selected book.
