At the beginning of each lesson I will be demonstrating a reading strategy or skill using a "Think Aloud." A "Think Aloud" demonstrates the thinking process that is used to meet the goals of the lesson. Since the goals of this lesson are focused on clarifying word meanings and how word meanings help you understand text, that is what this "Think Aloud" demonstrates.
For all "Think Alouds" in this course, I will be using John Maxwell's Talent is Never Enough. You will soon see why I have selected this book for this course.
Each day you will be asked to focus on the "Think Aloud," learn the process it demonstrates, practice with another student, and use the same strategy in your selected reading book.
