On a mac, hold down the keys Command-shift-4. Your cursor becomes a crosshairs. Drag the crosshairs over the area you want to capture and you will hear a sound like a camera click. Your picture will be on your desktop, either titled "Picture 1, or Screenshot, depending on what system software you are using.
On a pc, hit the PrintScreen button. Open up Microsoft Word and hit paste. Your picture will paste into the document.
