Youtube (see Youtube Edu for content from educational organizations)

Vimeo - a video sharing site similar to Youtube; fewer videos, but tend to be better quality.

Wikimedia Commons - videos that are licensed under creative commons.

Education-focused

WatchKnow - a directory of educational videos hosted on other sites, such as Youtube. Videos are selected by educators and the site is moderated.

Teacher Tube - a site for teachers and students to share videos. Content is moderated and must be approved before being published.

LinkTV - tons of video clips and full-length programs about world issues. There is also a collection of lesson plans for using the videos.

Khan Academy - collection of educational screencasts about math, science, economics, and history.

PBS Video - clips and full episodes of PBS programs.

neoK12 -Collection of educational videos and games.

Hulu - Although known more for catching up on your favorite sitcom or TV drama, hulu has a lot of educational material for current events, history, science, and technology. Hulu also lets you select just a portion of video to share.

iTunes U - Hundreds of thousands of videos from universities and other educational institutions. To access iTunes U, open iTunes and go to the iTunes U section of the iTunes Store.

Documentaries

Snagfilms / Snaglearning - websites where you can watch full-length documentary films for free. Movies can be embedded in other websites.

Documentary Heaven - collection of full-lenght documentaries hosted on other websites.

Search Engines

Google Video SearchTo find videos using Google, search for a keyword as you normally would and then click the Video section on the left side of the results page. You can also use advanced operators when searching for videos.

Many of the databases in ELM also have a video search feature. To login in to ELM, go to your building's media center website. See the slides below for a list of databases that include videos.
