Assignment 5: Interview Questions

Setting up an interview:

You have the opportunity to meet and get to know an elementary student that you will create a personalized story for. Since we are working online, you won’t be able to meet face-to-face. Instead, you’ll develop a series of questions for your elementary student to respond to.

As you saw in the example, you’ll set up an interview using VoiceThread. The first step is to create your question “slides.” Here are the guidelines to follow:

  1. Create your interview in PowerPoint. Start with an opening slide where you introduce yourself (first name only is fine.)
  2. Next, think of 5-7 questions for the elementary student to respond to. Keep these questions fun and informal. Don’t ask for any personal information such as full name, address, phone number, etc.
  3. Create a separate slide for each question and include a picture on each slide.
  4. Use a font that is big and easy to read. (At least 18 point.)
Note: if you don’t have access to PowerPoint, you may use Google documents (use the “Presentation” option.)

Once you have completed your interview, save your PowerPoint and upload it to this assignment form. Wait to hear feedback from me before continuing on to the next step. (You must have my approval on your interview questions before they will be given to an elementary student.)
