Goals of test and course:

Determine meaning of unfamiliar words and metaphors through context and structural analysis. (11 questions)

Analyze and accurately make conclusions about information contained in warranties, contracts, job descriptions, technical descriptions and other information sources selected from labels, warning manuals, contracts, job descriptions, technical descriptions and other information sources, used to complete a specific task.  (3 questions)

Read and paraphrase main idea and supporting details from both narrative and expository text. (15 questions)

The student will evaluate clarity, accuracy, and credibility of information. (6 questions)

Drawing Conclusions:  The student can recognize a logical conclusion from explicit and implied meaning from text.  Make reasonable inferences and conclusions based on the text and can support these conclusions with information from the text. (19 questions)

Evaluate author's decisions regarding word choice, point of view, style, and literary elements (3 questions)

Respond to literature using ideas and details from the text to support reactions and make literary connections (7 questions)
