A Wiki allows several people to work on a web site at the same time. You should have already done the following:
  • Watched the tutorials and overview of what a WIKI is.
  • Signed up for your own Wiki
  • Sent links to people who will work together one your Wiki
  • Send your teacher a link
For your WIKI you will choose a text from each of the following categories:
  • personal essay
  • poetry
  • informational text
  • editorial
Each of the above categories has an introduction on how the text is organized. You should read this brief explanation. After reading the explanation, you should chose one of the articles from each category to read. All members work together to chose the article. Read the article thinking about the purpose listed in the introductory page, the organizational structure, your understanding of the author's point, your use of personal reading strategies, and your opinion of the author's message. These five elements make the framework for your WIKI. Work together to add these parts. You can either discuss as you go or you can have your discussion on the Wiki.

After reading and thinking, return to the direction page. An organizational shell or example will be there for your reference. You can choose to use that example or you can choose to meet the requirements in your own way. As long as you meet the requirements, you have met the goal of the assignment.

Remember, use correct English grammar and punctuation in your WIKI. This is not texting and should use capital letters, paragraphing, and punctuation.

Set a goal to complete one category per day of class. That means you will not complete all of the categories. Choose the categories you may need practice in reading, as the types of reading in this assignment may be selected for the graduation reading test.

Grading for Wiki Project:

Wiki demonstrates completed understanding of the information from the article.
Wiki demonstrates correct English conventions.
