Summative Assessment
These tools are better suited for summative assessments, due to the ability for students to move at their own pace and the focus on individual student results as opposed to anonymous, group results.
Moodle
Moodle is a learning management system (LMS). Moodle enables teachers to create online courses that can be used for online assessments, publishing/organizing digital content, hosting discussion forums, and more.
Some of the features in Moodle's Quiz module include:
- Multimedia questions and/or answers
- Answer-specific feedback, either after each question or at the end of a quiz
- Randomized assessments from a question bank
- Importing questions from Exam View and other testing software
- Results broken down by tag, e.g. standard or strand
- Separate assessments for students with accomodations
To create quizzes on Moodle, you'll need to get a course first (one course can house multiple quizzes).
Google Forms & Flubaroo
Google Forms are a survey feature of Google Docs/Drive, which can be combined with the Flubaroo grading script to make simple quizzes. Students can be required to log in with the Google Apps account for security, and the Flubaroo script will email results to students.
If you get stuck on any task, please post your questions to the Discussion Forum. |
