Getting the blog up and running is the first assessment, which involves many processes and products using technology.


Get a self-hosted blog up and publish posts. Your blog can be about any appropriate topic that is important or of interest to you. Decide who you want to be able to read or comment on your blog.

2. Communication and Collaboration

Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.

Blog posts and comments will be assessed on frequency, accuracy, and relevance to the blog topic. At least one post and two comments per week are assigned.

Publish posts on your blog. Read other students’ blogs and comment on at least two other students’ posts each week. Make comments either positive or suggest something that could have been done better.

6. Technology Operations and Concepts

Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.

If the blog is working on a hosted domain, all of the pieces of the curriculum are in place.

Systems used in this class include students setting up their computer as a server, researching and implementing a domain, connecting with the domain host and uploading blog posts to the internet.
