Bridging Relevance and Realness: The Power of Why

Why is a powerful question, as it contains elements of both relevance and realness. To help consider the role that why plays in classrooms, watch the following video, from Michael Jr., as he gives a dramatic example of someone first doing a task for "what", and then doing a task for a "why" that connected to them with meaning. As you watch this 3-minute clip, consider how this story connects to your students and your role as a teacher.

Reflection

Take a moment and think about the following. This is not a submitted assignment, but answering the question can have a profound impact on your class.
