Copyright in the Digital Age

Considering all that you know about copyright law, what do you think is fair?

In this activity you will be rewriting copyright law. You will have to make decisions about the following:

1. How long someone (and their family) owns something that they create? What if a company creates something? How long should they retain the rights to it? 

2. Should things go into the Public Domain? When?

3. What should be allowed and restricted if a person wants to use copyrighted material in a project? classroom? documentary? song? etc. What if it's a kid making a YouTube video?

4. What should the punishments be for anyone who breaks your new law?
