In this module, students will learn about
- processing advancements (mechanical to computerized, analog to digital)
- input and output devices; port identification
- operating systems
- software
- file existence, organization and naming convention
- networks
- acceptable use and policy existence
Students will complete, practice, or attain skills with
- basic computer operation
- basic software categorization
Students will evaluate
- computer component connectivity issues (basic)
- software choice situations
Students will exhibit in a digital portfolio
- a systems-concept graphic
- a software and extensions graphic or explanation
- a "past" versus "present" technology graphic, labelled appropriately as analog/digital/mechanical, etc.
- an understanding of computer components & their functions
- a choice item
