Flowchart of applications

Applications are software, or programs, that computer users most often work with. Most computer users think about applications when they think about software on their computers.

There are families of software that work with specific operating systems, although this line is becoming blurred with cross-over designs.

The way the hardware is designed/built will determine which operation system runs it. Most "P.C.s" use Windows O.S. and Windows applications. Most Apple computers use Apple software and apple applications.

PC computer > Windows/Microsoft O.S. > Windows software > computer user.
Apple computer > Apple/Mac O.S. > Windows software > computer user.
