Digital Notebooks

Digital notebooks let you capture text, picture, and audio notes. Notes are saved online and/or syned between devices. Most digital notebooks also enable you to sort your notes into folders and/or categorize them using tags. Digital notebooks are also very social, allowing you to collect notes with a group or share your notes with others.

Evernote

If you can see it or think of it, Evernote can help you remember it. Type a text note. Clip a web page. Snap a photo. Record a voice memo. Evernote will keep it all safe. Everything you capture is automatically processed, indexed, and made searchable. If you like, you can add tags or organize notes into different notebooks. All your notes are accessible from almost any device, including smart phones. (Modified from Evernote)

Evernote also allows you to create notes while offline, which then sync with your account when you have internet access again. Notebooks can be shared too, enabling teachers to share notes with students, which is especially helpful with their new iPad flash card app. Watch the videos below for a brief intro into Evenote and how it has been used in schools.

Springpad

Springpad is like the beautiful, brainy child of Evernote and Pinterest. Like Evernote, you can clip content, type/record notes, and add pictures. However, Springpad is more for collecting items into groups - much like Pinterest - rather than creating long notes, and you can also "spring" (repost) content from other notebooks. You can choose to make notebooks public, private, or share them with individuals and allow others to contribute to a notebook.

Students and staff can login to Springpad using their Google Apps accounts - no account setup required.
