Dashboards / Aggregators

Managing multiple social networks can be a hassle, especially when you have separate personal and work accounts. Dashboards or aggregators can help by logging you into multiple accounts at once, and display columns of feeds from each account. These tools also let you post to multiple accounts. Additional features include built-in URL shortening, post scheduling, and more.

Tweetdeck

Tweetdeck is a very robust desktop app, available for PCs, Macs, and smart phones. You can customize your feed columns by keyword, user lists, and more. Need a column for just student updates? Or how about a column that shows all updates about science? Done.

The best part about Tweetdeck is that you can set it to sync between devices, so if you add an account or column via your computer, it is available on your phone.

Hootsuite

If you'd like to manage multiple accounts, but would rather not install anything, Hootsuite is an online social network aggregator similar to Tweetdeck. It recently limited the free version to 5 accounts, so if you need more, stick with Tweetdeck.

Like Tweetdeck, Hootsuite has multiple customizable columns, a URL shortener, and scheduled updates. Learn how to manage multiple accounts in Hootsuite in this video:
