Situation 1
Sam had a common cold for over a week, suddenly he developed a fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. What disease would you diagnose and what treatment do you think Sam requires?
Situation 2
Mary traveled outside of the country recently and months after she returned she started experiencing a fever, night sweats, loss of appetite and weight loss. She thought she had a virus so she did not go to the doctor for a few weeks after the symptoms started appearing. When she did not feel better after a few weeks she went to her doctor. What do you think he/she would diagnose? What treatment does Mary require?
