Now that you're an expert, here's something else to consider...

Copyright limitations are notoriously restrictive. They don't make any sense to the average person and since those laws were written the world has changed; our culture has changed. We went from a group of consumers to a group of producers who want to share what we make. Every minute, 20 hours worth of video is uploaded to YouTube. Almost all of it is original content. Some of it uses copyrighted material; sometimes legally, sometimes not.

One of the most common uses of copyrighted material for the average person is something called a Remix.

Watch this talk by one of the pioneers of the Creative Commons movement to see what he thinks about some of the rights of creators and remixers. There are examples of people using copyrighted material in what Lessig considers should be Fair Use.

He raises some interesting points about what is not currently allowed that should be. The talk also provides some suggestions about where creators might push back a little bit in the use of copyrighted material. What do you think about the examples in his presentation? Is the use of that material OK?
